We’ve reduced the possible filesize for image uploads, and we’ve maximised image compression. We can increase this if it turns out to be annoying/hideous. The forum is also no longer automatically downloading images that users link in posts!

We’ve gone with 50% compression since splitting hairs over 5kb seemed pointless. We do have some scope to allow pictures to be bigger and better quality if people complain, but we may as well start out by not using more space than we need to, and this limits the damage spammers can do.
